NEW EATON MOTOR PROVIDES IMPROVED EFFICIENCY FOR PERSONNEL LIFTS

EDEN PRAIRIE, MINNESOTA - Eaton Hydraulics brings new volumetric and mechanical efficiencies to the personnel lift market with the introduction of its "W" Series low-speed, high-torque motor. The high efficiencies deliver more horsepower to the ground for better vehicle performance. More important, they make the W Series Motor ideal for electric lifts where battery life is a concern.

The W Series Motor also features the latest advancements in Geroler® technology. The new Geroler design has been optimized to provide smooth operation, even at low speeds. Gerolers also offer the advantages of low friction, durability and superior drive life.

The compact envelope of the W Series Motor makes it suitable for new and existing applications. It measures a maximum of 5.4 inches from the end cap to where the flange and front pilot join. Front and rear pilots measure 3.25 inches and 5 inches in diameter respectively. Yet, the W Series Motor provides 510 Nm (4500 lb-in) of intermittent torque and up to 694 RPM. The envelope and high torque package offer manufacturers greater design flexibility.

The W Series Motor also features an industry-standard mount. The rugged housing has a four-bolt mounting flange with a 5.81 inch bolt circle. The tapered shaft diameter is 1.25 inches. A heavy-duty bearing increases the side load capacity to make the W Series Motor even more flexible.

Flange-mounted port locations have been designed to ease assembly installation as well as facilitate and protect the attachment of hydraulic lines. Porting options are available and include popular sizes such as 7/8 O-ring and G 1/2 (BSP).

Available options for the W Series Motor include internal check valve, brake, lock, shuttle valve, high speed valve, seal guard and case drain. The case drain allows for enhanced cooling and circuit flushing needs. An integral brake is under development and will eliminate the need for secondary assembly operations.

Eaton's Hydraulics Division manufactures and markets worldwide a complete line of hydraulic components for mobile and industrial products. Its products include Char-Lynn® low-speed, high-torque motors and hydrostatic power steering, Eaton light, medium and heavy duty hydrostatic transmissions, piston pumps and motors, radial ball piston pumps, hydrostatic transaxles, gear pumps and motors, valves and cylinders.
